Seoul Against US Military Action on N. Korea

Unification Minister Hong Yong-pyo has expressed concerns about the U.S.’ possible preemptive strike against North Korea.
In a media conference on Monday, Hong said Seoul will have to consult with Washington about a preemptive strike against the North considering the impact it would have on the security of South Korea.
The minister said the preemptive strike against the North is aimed at resolving the regime’s nuclear threat but South Korea must consider its possible ramifications.
Hong said South Korea cannot see eye to eye with the U.S. on every military decision regarding the North but emphasized that Seoul will continue its coordination with Washington on North Korean matters.
