The U.S. has reportedly notified the Australian government that it is ready to shoot down a North Korean missile. 
 
The Australian Daily Telegraph on Monday cited intelligence sources as saying that North Korea may test launch a ballistic missile around the birthday of its founder Kim II-sung on April 15th or sooner.
 
The report said that the U.S. is understood to have notified Australia that it is ready to intercept the North Korean missile as the Australia-U.S. joint facility in Australia’s Northern Territory is on a standby.

Amid the escalating tensions over a possible nuclear test or an intercontinental ballistic missile launch by the North, a U.S. aircraft carrier is currently on standby in the western Pacific near the Korean Peninsula.

The South Korean Defense Ministry on Monday confirmed the redeployment of the USS Carl Vinson, saying it was to prepare for possible strategic provocations by North Korea.
