No Unusual Military Moves Detected in N. Korea

The Joint Chiefs of Staff(JCS) says that no unusual military moves are being detected in North Korea, despite Pyongyang’s warning of an imminent “big event.”
JCS press chief Roh Jae-chun made the remarks in a news briefing at the Defense Ministry on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, North Korea told foreign correspondents stationed in the country to get ready to see a “big event.”
Regarding the possibility of the South Korean military’s joint exercise with the U.S. aircraft carrier Carl Vinson, Roh said that no such plans have been confirmed.
Japan’s Asahi Shimbun reported on Wednesday that Tokyo and Washington are arranging a joint drill between Japan’s Self Defense Forces and the U.S. supercarrier, which was sent to waters near the Korean Peninsula.
