U.S. news outlets are paying keen attention to speculations that a new nuclear test by North Korea is on the horizon, following a U.S.-based North Korea-monitoring service’s latest assessment of the North’s Puggye-ri nuclear test site.
 
In its online edition on Thursday morning, CNN reported about 38 North’s analysis of commercial satellite imagery, which showed the North Korean nuclear facility as primed and ready for sixth nuclear test.
 
CNN quoted 38 North analyst Joseph Bermudez as saying that the North’s activity during the past six weeks is suggestive of the final preparations for a new nuclear test.
 
The cable news network also noted that Bermudez and his colleague Jack Liu correctly predicted the fifth nuclear test conducted in September 2016.
 
The New York Times also reported on signs of Pyongyang’s preparations for a sixth nuclear test, which it said may be the most powerful yet.
