JCS: N. Korea's Attempted Missile Launch Failed

North Korea fired a missile on Sunday, but it appears to have exploded midair.
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said that the North launched an unidentified missile from near the Sinpo region in South Hamgyong Province at 6:20 Sunday morning, but it is suspected to have failed.
No further details were disclosed as the JCS is analyzing the launch.
The United States Pacific Command said that the missile exploded midair shortly after the launch.
The North fired a ballistic missile from the same area earlier this month, but it flew about 60 kilometers before falling in the East Sea.
The South Korean military believes that Pyongyang is likely to launch a ballistic missile around the anniversary of the creation of the North’s military on April 25.
