Pence: Era of Strategic Patience is Over

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence says the "era of strategic patience is over" with North Korea.

On the second day of his visit to South Korea on Monday, Pence visited the Demilitarized Zone(DMZ) separating the two Koreas.

According to the Associated Press, Pence told reporters at U.S. Camp Bonifas near the DMZ that President Trump has made it clear that the patience of the United States and its allies in the region has run out.

He said that the U.S. and its allies want to see North Korea abandon its reckless path of nuclear weapons development adding its continual use and testing of ballistic missiles is unacceptable.

He said U.S. President Donald Trump is hopeful that China will use its "extraordinary levers" to press the regime to abandon its nuclear weapons.

Pence also visited an observation post in the DMZ, which is only 25 meters away from the military demarcation line.
