N. Korean Envoy: Peace Talks with US 'Unrealistic' for Now

North Korea's ambassador to Indonesia has said peace talks with the U.S. at this time are "unrealistic."

According to Indonesia's state-run Antara News, Ambassador An Kwang-il also said North Korea is ready to counter U.S. provocations. He made the comments in a news conference at the North Korean Embassy in Jakarta.

Regarding the resumption of the six-party nuclear talks, An said Pyongyang is working to foster conditions conducive to dialogue.

But, he asked rhetorically, how could some people be trusted while conducting exercises that target North Korea with nuclear attack.

The news conference Thursday came as U.S. Vice President Mike Pence visits Indonesia as part of his current trip to Asia.
