Trump, Xi Discuss N. Korea Again in 2 Weeks

U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday discussed North Korea’s nuclear issue over the phone for the second time this month.
According to China’s state-run CCTV, the two leaders agreed to engage in close communication as they discussed pending issues concerning the Korean Peninsula.
The latest telephone conversation came less than two weeks after the two leaders last discussed the North’s nuclear issue over the phone. The latest talks demonstrate that Washington and Beijing are working together to stop the North from carrying out another nuclear test.
Ahead of speaking with Xi, Trump also spoke with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe over the phone. Both leaders called on Pyongyang to refrain from engaging in further provocations.
