Foreign Minister to Attend UN Meeting on N. Korean Nuke

South Korea’s Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will attend a UN Security Council(UNSC) meeting on the North Korean nuclear issue set for Friday in the U.S.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Cho June-hyuck said Tuesday that 15 UNSC member nations and South Korea will attend the meeting, which is the first-ever ministerial meeting to be held on the issue of the denuclearization of a particular country in the history of the UNSC.
The spokesman said that during the meeting, Yun will stress that North Korean nuclear and missile development poses the most urgent and serious threat to the peace and security of the international community. The minister will also call for the UNSC's preemptive and proactive response to North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Yun will also meet with U.S. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissenger to discuss ways to denuclearize the North.
