China Urges S. Korea, US to Remove THAAD

China has strongly urged South Korea to remove THAAD equipment hours after key parts of the U.S. advanced antimissile system were deployed to Seongju, North Gyeongsang Province, early Wednesday.
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said during a regular news briefing that the THAAD deployment will destroy strategic balance in the region and incite a further rise in tensions, when asked about China's stance on the issue.
The spokesman explained that China has already expressed its grave concerns to Seoul and Washington and strongly urges the two sides to cancel the deployment and withdraw the equipment.
