VOA: N. Korea’s Missile Launcher Captured in Civilian Satellite Imagery

The Voice of America(VOA) reports that North Korea’s transporter erector launcher(TEL) has been captured in a civilian satellite image for the first time.
VOA said that the image was taken by private satellite photography company DigitalGlobe on March 13th.
The launcher is seen some ten kilometers north of Banghyon Airfield in North Pyongan Province.
The satellite imagery shows a vehicle atop a square-shaped structure, which is 18 meters in width and 30 meters in length. The ten-meter-long vehicle is loaded with what appears to be an almost vertically erected launcher, which is as long as the vehicle.
Nick Hansen, a researcher at the Center for International Security and Cooperation of Stanford University, analyzed that the launcher is the same type as the one North Korea used for test-firing a Pukguksong-2 intermediate-range ballistic missile on February 12th.
