'Gas Stations Closing, Limiting Fuel in N. Korea'

Reuters said Wednesday that some of North Korea's state-run petrol stations are restricting sales or appear to have closed.

The report cited Rowan Beard, at official at Young Pioneer Tours, a China-based company that takes Western tourists to North Korea, as saying that cars in North Korea now have a limit of 15 kilograms or about 20 liters of fuel.

He said it has been like this for 15 days but that vehicles used for work purposes have special exceptions.

The report cited another unnamed source as saying that official gasoline prices had surged and that fuel was being rationed in the North's remote northeast area of Rason.
