A United States congressman says that the only way to diplomatically stop North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile aspirations is with "a credible military option."

Adam Kinzinger, an Illinois Republican who sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told CNN on Friday that it is imperative for the United States to increase the pressure towards North Korea, but it needs to do so by having a credible military option.

Kinzinger said that this was Pyongyang's ninth missile test since President Donald Trump took office in January. He added that even though the test failed, the North will learn what went wrong and can eventually rectify the problem.

The congressman said that the United States needs to bring attention to the real issue that it has not talked about for a long time, which is North Korea’s nuclear position, adding that Pyongyang has a nuclear missile that can be delivered to the allies of the United States or even to the United States.
