2 in 3 N. Korean Defectors Satisfied with Life in S. Korea

A new survey finds that two out of three North Korean defectors are satisfied with their lives in South Korea.

That's according to a survey conducted by Korea Hana Foundation in affiliation with the Unification Ministry on about 12-thousand North Korean defectors.

About 24 percent said they are "very satisfied" with life in their new land, and more than 43 percent said they are "relatively satisfied." About 29 percent said their satisfaction level was "average" and three-point-five percent said they are "unsatisfied."

Asked why they're satisfied, the defectors said freedom and leisure. Those who said they are unsatisfied cited "financial difficulties" as the biggest reason.
