Trump Talks with Leaders of Singapore, Thailand Over N. Korea

U.S. President Donald Trump has spoken with the leaders of Singapore and Thailand in an effort to seek their support in pressuring North Korea over its nuclear and missile threats.

The White House said Trump held separate telephone talks with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Sunday.

A U.S. official said they discussed ways to maintain diplomatic and economic pressure on North Korea.

The White House said in a statement that Trump invited the two Southeast Asian leaders to Washington. On Saturday, Trump also spoke with Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte, who was also invited to the White House.

White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus told ABC's "This Week" earlier on Sunday that the U.S. needs cooperation at some level with as many Asian partners as possible to make sure that "we have our ducks in a row."
