China Welcomes Trump's Openness to Talks with N. Korean Leader
China is welcoming U.S. President Donald Trump’s openness to talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told reporters Tuesday China believes in a peaceful resolution of the issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula through dialogue.
He said negotiation is the only workable way to achieve a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula with peace and stability in the region.
Trump told an interviewer Monday he would be willing to meet with Kim, in his words, "under the right circumstances."
