Radio Free Asia(RFA) says that 12 countries possessing no nuclear weapons have released a joint report strongly condemning North Korea’s nuclear and missile tests.
 
RFA reported that the Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative submitted a report on the North’s nuclear program to a preparatory meeting for the 2020 review conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
 
The initiative is a gathering of 12 non-nuclear nations including Australia, Canada, Chile, Germany and Japan.
 
The report, which was posted on the Web site of the UN, harshly denounced the North’s nuclear tests, ballistic missile launches, and operation of a reactor and a uranium enrichment facility at the Yongbyon nuclear site.
 
It reaffirmed that North Korea cannot obtain the status of a nuclear power in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The report also urged Pyongyang to stop making provocatice and unstable acts.
