The Unification Ministry has called on North Korea to act in concert with Seoul and the international community’s efforts toward establishing peace and stability on the peninsula through denuclearization and improving inter-Korea ties.
 
The ministry’s deputy spokesperson, Lee Yoo-jin, revealed the stance to reporters with regard to a statement issued on Thursday by the North’s Asia-Pacific Peace Committee.
 
In the statement, a spokesperson for the committee under the United Front Department, said South Korea’s new government neglected the speculative significance of the North’s latest missile launch and is amusing itself in flattering foreign powers. It marked the first time for the North to publicly denounce the Moon Jae-in government.
