Tokyo Denounces N. Korea's Missile Launch

Tokyo has denounced North Korea’s latest missile launch, saying the regime’s repeated provocative acts are unacceptable.
Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga held a media conference at six p.m. on Sunday, calling the North’s latest missile launch problematic in terms of the safety of ships and airplanes. He added it is a clear violation of the UN Security Council(UNSC) resolutions.
The Japanese government also held a National Security Council(NSC) meeting at 6:20 p.m. to discuss countermeasures.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that the North’s latest missile launch trampled on the international community’s efforts to bring a peaceful solution to the problems on the Korean Peninsula, adding it poses a challenge to the world,
Abe said Japan hopes to send a clear message to the regime by having the North Korean issues adopted as a major agenda on the G7 summit to be held in Italy on Friday and Saturday.
He said Japan will not only cooperate with South Korea and the U.S. but also with China and Russia to resolve the North Korean problems.
