'N. Korea on Inevitable Path to Nuclear ICBM'

A U.S. top intelligence official says that if North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is left unchecked, Pyongyang will ultimately develop a nuclear-armed missile capable of striking the U.S. homeland.

Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency(DIA), Vincent Steward, made the remarks on Tuesday during a hearing before the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, citing the continued advancement in the North’s ballistic missile capability.

Vincent said that it’s almost impossible to predict when this capability will be operational, but the Kim Jong-un regime is committed and is on a pathway where this capability is inevitable.

The DIA director added that the U.S. is getting very limited intelligence on the North’s missile and nuclear activities.
