Putin Willing to Send Special Envoy to Pyongyang
Russian President Vladimir Putin says he is willing to send a special envoy to North Korea in an effort to resolve the tension on the Korean Peninsula.
President Moon Jae-in’s special envoy Song Young-gil told reporters that Putin revealed the intention during a meeting at the Kremlin on Wednesday night.
Asked if he can send an envoy to find out what Kim Jong-un has in mind, Putin positively responded to the idea.
The Russian president was also cited as saying that the North Korean nuclear issue cannot be resolved through a war, saying it will lead to a disastrous loss of human lives.
He then called for the resumption of the stalled six-party talks and Washington-Pyongyang dialogue as he argued that sanctions alone will cause humanitarian problems for North Koreans.
