US Expert: N. Korea Behind Latest Cyberattacks Around the Globe

The former inspector general of the U.S.’ National Security Agency(NSA), Joel Brenner, has claimed that North Korea appears to be responsible for large-scale cyberattacks that took place around the world this month.
Brenner, who had also served as head of U.S. counterintelligence in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, told Japan’s Sankei Shimbun on Friday that the North’s capacity to stage attacks on cyberspace is rapidly advancing.
Brenner said that though there is a possibility that another country or organized crime group was behind the latest attacks, the North is the likely culprit given the similarities spotted in past North Korean attacks and codes used.
