China Urges N. Korea to Create Conditions for Talks

Beijing has urged Pyongyang to create conditions for dialogue, hours after the North conducted its latest missile launch.
In a statement sent by email to several foreign media outlets on Monday, China’s Foreign Ministry said that it is opposed to the North's launching of a ballistic missile, which is in violation of the UN Security Council(UNSC) resolutions on the regime.
Noting the situation on the Korean Peninsula is complicated and sensitive, the Chinese ministry reiterated its call for all concerned parties to remain calm and exercise restraint.
The North launched a variation of a short-range Scud missile at 5:39 a.m. on Monday near the eastern coastal city of Wonsan in Gangwon Province, eight days after the regime fired a Pukguksong-2 medium-range ballistic missile(MRBM).
