"UNSC to Vote on New N. Korea Sanction on Friday"

The UN Security Council(UNSC) is said to have drafted a fresh set of sanction measures on North Korea regarding the regime's nuclear and missile threats.

Diplomats based at the UN said the sanction measures will be put to a vote on Friday afternoon.

North Korea’s staunchest ally, China, is said to have agreed with the adoption of the new sanctions, making their imminent approval likely.

According to global news media outlets, the new sanctions do not include powerful measures such as blocking oil supplies to the North.

However, 15 North Korean individuals and four entities will be newly added to the UN’s blacklist. Currently, 39 individuals and 42 organizations are under UN sanctions regarding the North's nuclear and missile programs.
