S. Korea, US Agree on N. Korea Approach of Pressure, Dialogue

South Korea and the U.S. have agreed to deal with the North Korean nuclear issue through both sanctions and pressure, and dialogue.
National Security Adviser Chung Eui-yong and his U.S. counterpart H.R. McMaster met at the White House Thursday and spoke for about 80 minutes.
Participants of the meeting say they discussed ways to create a dialogue opportunity on denuclearization while sanctions and pressure are continuously applied on the North.
The two officials also agreed largely on the details of a bilateral summit including the agenda and date ahead of President Moon Jae-in's visit to the U.S. later this month.
Sources say the summit agenda will include stepping up the alliance, the North Korean nuclear issue, trade, and cooperation on global issues.
