N. Korea Rejects New UNSC Resolution, Vows to Continue Nuke Program

North Korea has rejected a new sanctions resolution adopted by the UN Security Council(UNSC) against the regime, vowing to continue developing and testing nuclear and missile weapons.

In a spokesperson’s statement released on Sunday, the North’s Foreign Ministry said the UNSC sanctions resolution is a hostile act aimed at curbing the buildup of its nuclear forces, disarming it and causing economic suffocation to it.

The ministry said no matter what sanctions and pressure may follow, the North will not halt its pursuit of strengthened nuclear forces and continue to move forward toward the final victory.

It said until the U.S. and its followers make the right choices, the North’s "ultra-precision and diversified Juche Rocket" will continue to thunder and skyrocket in full blast in numbers and in succession.

On Friday, the UNSC unanimously adopted Resolution 2356 to punish the North’s series of ballistic missiles launches with strengthened sanctions. It is the seventh sanctions resolution the UN body has adopted against the North since the regime’s first nuclear test in 2006.
