Rodong Sinmun: ICBM Test Launch Not Far Away

North Korean state media says Pyongyang is not far from test launching an intercontinental ballistic missile.

According to an editorial by the Rodong Sinmun, the North's recent series of strategic weapons tests proves an ICBM test is not far off.

Last month, the North fired an intermediate range ballistic missile, a medium range ballistic missile, a KN-06 surface-to-air guided missile and a Scud-class ballistic missile.

On Thursday, the North fired several anti-ship cruise missiles.

The newspaper said New York is just over ten-thousand kilometers away and all of America is within the North's striking distance.

In another article, the Rodong Sinmun said the U.S. attacked Iraq and Libya after they agreed to give up their nuclear weapons.

The paper said North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has held his "invincible sword" high, an apparent reference to nuclear weapons. The paper said Kim has done this on the belief his people's fate must not be subject to misfortune.
