'N. Korea Willing to Respond to Dialogue, Cooperation on Human Rights'

North Korea says it is willing to respond to any dialogue and cooperation on human rights issues with the international community.
The North's state-run Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) reported that North Korea's human rights ambassador, Ri Hung-sik, met with U.N. Special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities, Catalina Devandas-Aguilar, in New York on Monday and discussed ways to promote human rights.
Ambassador Ri was said to have told the U.N. rapporteur that Pyongyang is ready to respond to talks and collaboration on promoting human rights if they are aimed at sincerely helping the North.
However, as a precondition, he said the North would reject extremely politicized human rights debate or testimonies and fabrications presented by defectors under the influence of hostile forces.
