S. Korea, US Finance Chiefs Discuss N. Korea Sanctions on Phone
Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon held his first telephone conversation with his U.S. counterpart.
The Finance Ministry said Kim and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin discussed ways to cooperate on the economy and sanctions against North Korea on Thursday.
Kim also expressed his condolences on the death of American student Otto Warmbier who was held captive by North Korea.
Recalling that the two nations have a common recognition of the North Korea issue, Mnuchin urged cooperation on sanctions against the North.
The two officials agreed that job creation is a top agenda for both countries and called for cooperation.
