CSIS: US Must Promptly Ban Travel of Americans to N. Korea

A U.S. think tank has urged the U.S. government to immediately ban Americans from traveling to North Korea.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies(CSIS) made the call on Wednesday with regard to the death of American student, Otto Warmbier, who died on Monday, six days after he was released from the North in a coma.
The Washington-based think tank's South Korea section urged the U.S. government to demand North Korean authorities to explain in detail what happened during Warmbier’s 17-month-long detainment. The section also said Washington must pressure Pyongyang to immediately free three other American citizens being held captive in the communist state.
The CSIS also said the U.S. Treasury Department must consider applying sanctions on all firms related to North Korea tourism, including the travel agency that organized Warmbier’s trip.
The U.S. State Department earlier unveiled the possibility of imposing a ban on all American travel to the North and the heads of the Senate and House foreign affairs committees also called for such a travel ban.
