United States President Donald Trump reportedly checks the situation in North Korea every day through the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

CIA Director Mike Pompeo said on Saturday during an interview with MSNBC that he hardly escapes a day at the White House without the president asking him about North Korea and how the United States is responding to the threat.

Pompeo said that North Korea is very much at the top of the president’s mind, adding North Koreans are "ever-closer to having the capacity to hold America at risk with a nuclear weapon."

According to the U.S. magazine Politico, the CIA chief spends three hours almost every day driving from Langley, Virginia, to the White House in order to give the president his national security briefing in person.
