US Vice President Calls N. Korea Greatest Threat in India-Pacific Region

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence has called North Korea the greatest threat to peace and prosperity in the India-Pacific region, while urging for continued economic and diplomatic pressure on the regime.
Pence made the remarks on Tuesday during his address to the U.S.-India Business Council.
Calling the North a brutal regime, the vice president said that both he and President Donald Trump are grateful for India’s leadership in faithfully implementing UN sanctions and using its growing global leverage to increase diplomatic and economic pressure on Pyongyang.
Pence stressed that they must not waver in their resolve, calling for continued efforts and close cooperation among the allies and partners in the region to ensure that they exert the appropriate amount of economic and diplomatic pressure until the North permanently abandons its nuclear and missile programs.
