The Washington Post reports U.S. President Donald Trump is demanding various policy options to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue, including military options.

The U.S. paper cites U.S. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster as saying Trump’s North Korea strategy is a clear departure from policies adopted by the previous U.S. administrations.

That's because he says it is based on a premise that China has various means to control the North through its economic leverage over the regime.

McMaster was quoted as saying there is recognition that there has to be more pressure on the North Korean regime, and that there will be more efforts to exert that pressure in coming days and weeks.
