'Abe, Trump Reaffirm Increase of Pressure on N. Korea'

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and U.S. President Donald Trump have reaffirmed that they will step up pressure on North Korea.
Japan’s Kyodo News reported that Abe and Trump held talks over the phone on Monday morning and confirmed close cooperation to increase pressure on Pyongyang over the North’s continued nuclear and missile provocations.
The report said that the talks were aimed at coordinating policies among the U.S., South Korea and Japan before their meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit to be held in Hamburg, Germany on Friday and Saturday.
Kyodo said that Trump confirmed the importance of cooperation among the U.S., South Korea and Japan during his recent summit with President Moon Jae-in.
Trump and Abe also exchanged opinions on the newly imposed U.S. sanctions on a Chinese bank and entities for their links to North Korea.
