China is criticizing North Korea's latest missile launch, and calling on all concerned parties to exercise calm and restraint.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told reporters Tuesday the United Nations Security Council(UNSC) resolutions laid out clear rules on missile launches by North Korea, and that China opposes the regime going against the rules.

He said China urges the North to create conditions needed for the resumption of multilateral talks on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, expressing hope they will help ease tensions in the region.

The North said it successfully test-launched the Hwasong-14 intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday.
