Xi Supports Moon's Inter-Korean Peace Effort

Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his support for President Moon Jae-in’s efforts to improve inter-Korean relations.
Following the first Moon-Xi summit meeting in Berlin on Thursday, Presidential Spokesman Park Soo-hyun quoted Xi as saying that he supports the South Korean president’s leadership in seeking sustainable peace for the Korean Peninsula through restoration of inter-Korean dialogue and easing of tension between the two Koreas.
The spokesman said Xi also said he will actively cooperate with Moon on those efforts.
The meeting went 30 minutes longer than the scheduled 40 minutes, and the two leaders discussed security issues including the North Korean nuclear program and South Korea's deployment of U.S.-provided THAAD missile defense.
