Ex-US Diplomat Suggests Reunification as Solution to N. Korean Nuke Issue

Former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton says that the reunification of the two Koreas is the way to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue.
Washington-based political newspaper, The Hill, reported on Sunday that Bolton made the remarks during a radio interview in New York.
Bolton, who was tapped as a security adviser for the Donald Trump administration, said that because Trump is wrestling with a narrow set of attractive options on North Korea, he should try to convince China to allow the two Koreas to reunite.
He said that Washington can promise that it will not have American troops on their border.
The former U.S. diplomat said that if reunification is not possible, then the U.S. will be faced with the very unattractive option of using military force to keep Pyongyang from getting nuclear weapons.
Bolton had previously suggested the reunification of the two Koreas as a way to address the North Korean nuclear issue and to peacefully end the North Korean regime in an article he wrote for the Wall Street Journal in February.
