The Chinese government has welcomed President Moon Jae-in’s proposal for inter-Korean dialogue.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang relayed Beijing’s stance on President Moon's push for talks
during a regular briefing on Monday.

Geng relayed the assessment that Seoul has proposed clear policy plans for the improvement of inter-Korean relations, easing of the tensions on the Korean Peninsula and resolving related issues while also sending active messages to involved parties.

He said China firmly supports the two Koreas seeking to improve their relations through dialogue, and hopes they will exchange goodwill, reconcile and cooperate with each other.
