Pence: No Negotiations with N. Korea until Pyongyang Scraps Nukes

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence said Monday that a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will not happen unless Pyongyang abandons its nuclear ambitions.

Pence made the remark when he appeared on the American radio show, “The Laura Ingraham Show.”

He said that the U.S. president ought to be willing to sit down and explore common interests to advance peace, security and prosperity in the world in virtually every case, North Korea being an exception.

Pence said that unless and until Pyongyang abandons its nuclear and ballistic missile ambitions, the U.S. will continuously seek to isolate Pyongyang “more and more economically and diplomatically.”
