S. Korea: US was Consulted on Inter-Korean Meetings Proposals
South Korea's Foreign Ministry says it explained its proposals for inter-Korean dialogue to the United States through diplomatic channels, and obtained what it describes as "sufficient understanding" from Washington.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Cho June-hyuck told reporters Tuesday Seoul made it clear to U.S. officials the proposed inter-Korean meetings are in line with what has already been discussed during the South Korea-U.S. summit and G-20 Summit meetings.
Cho said Seoul is now waiting for Pyongyang’s response to its sincere proposals, adding the South Korean government will continue to consult closely with the U.S. and its other allies.
