Defense Ministry Reiterates Calls for N. Korea to Accept Dialogue

South Korea's Defense Ministry issued a statement Friday morning revealing that North Korea has not yet given a position to the South’s dialogue offer.
The statement added that it has become virtually difficult to open the talks proposed for Friday.
The ministry again urged North Korea to hold bilateral military talks on easing border tension and restoring a dialogue channel for the sake of addressing the urgent issue of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
The ministry called on the North to respond positively to the dialogue offer as soon as possible.
The meeting had been proposed for this Friday at the truce village of Panmunjeom inside the Demilitarized Zone.
