'N. Korea's Missile Program Not Tied to Calendar'

Amid reports that North Korea will conduct another missile launch on Thursday, the U.S. Defense Department says that it cannot predict a specific date for the launch.
Pentagon spokesman Jeff Davis said on Wednesday during a news briefing that North Korea’s nuclear and missile development programs are not tied to a calendar or specific dates.
The spokesman said that North Korea is aggressively pushing ahead with test launches wherever and whenever it can, which is Washington’s concern, not the date on the calendar the North picks.
He said that the U.S. is capable of defending itself from the North Korean missile system through the development of interceptors, while assuring it will remain committed to the defense of its allies, South Korea and Japan.
