S. Korea, US Prepared Joint Missile Drill before N. Korean ICBM Launch

South Korean and U.S. militaries prepared a joint missile exercise three days before North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missile launch Friday night.
A government official said on Monday that having detected signs of a new North Korean missile launch last week, the two allies deployed their ground-to-ground missiles to South Korea’s eastern coastal region last Tuesday in preparation for a joint missile exercise.
South Korean and U.S. militaries had kept the missiles deployed, although the North did not fire a missile until Friday.
