Survey: 50% of S. Koreans Positive about N. Korean Participation in Pyeongchang

A new survey indicates nearly half of the South Korean public believes North Korea’s possible participation in the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics is a good idea.
Pollsters talked to a thousand people nationwide between the ages of fifteen to seventy nine between July 21st and 22nd on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
49-point-eight percent of respondents said the North’s participation will affect the Pyeongchang Games positively, while 19-point-eight percent said it will have a negative effect.
Supporters of the North’s inclusion say it will raise the level of interest in the games and possibly create momentum for an improvement in inter-Korean relations.
