Major U.S. media outlets are calling for diplomatic solutions to the North Korean nuclear issue and warning danger of military options.

The Washington Post(WP) said in an editorial on Tuesday that the world is beginning to worry that U.S. President Donald Trump could go to war, and urged him to lead the North into a diplomatic solution even if he strengthens pressure on the regime.

CNN pointed out that North Korea will hit back if the U.S. carries out a preemptive strike, adding it will cause numerous deaths of innocent people in South Korea as well as nearly 30-thousand U.S. troops stationed on the Korean Peninsula.

The articles came in response to media reports that Trump mentioned the possibility of a war with the North, conflicting with remarks by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson who said the U.S. seeks dialogue with the regime.
