US Acting Amb.: S. Korea, US Coordinating 100% On N. Korea

Washington’s top diplomatic envoy in Seoul says the two allies are coordinating with each other “100 percent” not only on the unfolding situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the Northeast Asian region.
Acting U.S. ambassador to South Korea Marc Knapper made the remark in a meeting with ruling Democratic Party Chairwoman Choo Mi-ae at her parliamentary office on Monday.
He noted that successful coordination and cooperation with South Korea is important for the U.S. and reaffirmed they will continue to work with Seoul.
During talks, Choo emphasized that the Moon Jae-in administration and her party will sternly deal with any North Korean provocations based on the strong South Korea-U.S. alliance.
She also called for North Korea to immediately suspend its nuclear and missile threats and return to the negotiating table, adding war should never break out on the Korean Peninsula under any circumstances.
