Survey: 7 in 10 S. Koreans Concerned about National Security

Seven in ten South Koreans are concerned about the nation's security situation, according to a new poll.
KBS commissioned CNR Korea to conduct a survey on South Koreans' perception of the security situation on the Korean Peninsula ahead of Independence Day on Tuesday.
The survey showed about 71 percent of respondents said they were apprehensive about the current security situation. Around 68 percent said it will be difficult to resolve North Korea's nuclear issue for the time being, while eight percent said the situation is likely to be resolved by armed intervention.
Asked about the best strategy to resolve the situation, sanctions topped the list with 30 percent followed by inter-Korean dialogue at 26 percent.
CNR polled one-thousand adults across the country by landline and mobile phones for three days from August 3rd. The survey has a confidence level of 95 percent and a margin of error of plus or minus three-point-one percentage points.
