China Bans Coal, Iron, Seafood Imports from N. Korea
China says it's implementing a full embargo on almost two thirds of North Korean imports.
Chinese commerce and customs officials issued a statement Monday listing coal, iron, iron ore, lead, lead ore and seafood among North Korean trade items now banned in China.
The statement says the move is in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2371 adopted earlier this month and with domestic law governing overseas trade.
The banned items account nearly 62 percent of the more than two-point-six billion dollars worth of goods China usually imports from North Korea.
