Beijing has again expressed support for President Moon Jae-in’s call that no one can proceed with a military action on the Korean Peninsula without consent from Seoul.

During a regular briefing on Wednesday, China’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying reiterated Beijing's stance made a day earlier in response to Moon’s remarks on South Korea's Independence Day on Tuesday. 

Hua pointed out that China has been consistent in saying the nuclear issue should be resolved through peaceful and appropriate means, and peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula should be upheld. 

Noting the present situation on the Korean Peninsula is highly complex and sensitive, the spokeswoman called on involved parties to exercise restraint.
