"CIA Judges N. Korean ICBM Already Secures Reentry Technology"

The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency(CIA) reportedly estimates that North Korean intercontinental ballistic missiles possess adequate reentry technology to make them a threat.

U.S. current affairs magazine, The Diplomat, quotes government sources as saying the CIA believes the North's Hwasong-14 would “perform adequately if flown on a normal trajectory.”

The sources believe the missile did not survive the stresses of atmospheric reentry on a July 28th test because it was intentionally launched to an extremely high altitude of three-thousand-700 kilometers to demonstrate its full capacity.

The Diplomat cites one assessment that the North has already sufficiently advanced its reentry vehicle technology based on an analysis of data gathered by the U.S. National Air and Space Intelligence Center(NASIC).
